INTERMEDIO 2 REDACCION

MY LAST HOLIDAYS

To start with, I'd like to travel to foreign countries, but I've never had the chance.
If I were a wealthy woman, I'd travel around the world and help people whose economic situations were difficult. Although, I've never been abroad, I arranged a trip to Edinburgh, last year.

On the 29th April, in the morning, the students and I went by bus to Alicante Airport.
We arrived there two and half hours before the flight departed because we had to checked in our luggage and passed through security. A couple of students had to pay a little more because their baggage was overweight.
Despite the fact that the flight was bumpy for me, it  was good for the rest of the people. The plane landed at none at the Edinburgh Airport. The weather was cold and it was raining.

While my classmates collected their luggage in the baggage reclaim I was looking at the train timetable to go to the city. In addition, as the train to the city was one hour later, we had enough time to buy some souvenirs.
Furthermore, there were several means of transport to go to other parts of the city and outskirsts, at any time. We bought a Day Ticket to visit it on a bus.  At about £3.20 were paid by each of us.

When we arrived at the hotel, we  dropped off our baggage in our rooms.
On the one hand , the ones were spacious and plenty of light came through the windows.
On the other hand, the bathrooms and the wardrobes were small and narrow.
At midday, we had lunch in one of the most famous Starbucks called Standing Order, which was an old bank before becoming in a restaurant. We tasted the typical Scottish hamburgers and fish and chips.
In the afternoon, we had to take an umbrella and put a warm coat and raincoat on if  we wanted to go sightseeing. We went to the Royal Mile where there was a woman with a red cape who led us to The Mary King's Close.

The second day, we got up early because after breakfast, we were visiting The Edinburgh Castle. At night, after eating in the Witchery, we went clubbing in Leith where there was a jazz bar called The Shore. It was awesome.
On the last day, we visited The Sterling Castle and The Williams Wallace Fort.

To conclude, we had an amazing experiencie. I highly recommed travelling there.  Written by Susan

INTERMEDIO 1. EJEMPLO DE REDACCION

En los próximos días se van a publicar otros ejemplos de redacción de otros topics

MY HOUSE

First of all, we live in a semidetached house situated at the top of a hill, close to a small town in Valencia.

Our house has a huge bright living room which has a large balcony and a great fireplace, three comfortable bedrooms with high windows and they all include a big dressing room and nice bathroom each. There is also a study and laundry room. It has an enourmous kitchen with professional catering equipment and household items, as well.

Furthermore, we can enjoy magnificent breathtaking views through the windows, hear lovely birds' sounds in the morning and breath clean and pure air which smells of thyme, rosemary and lavander. There are a lot of trees and mountains around us and we can see protected wild animals while we are walking through mountains or along the road. Our neighbours are very friendly and welcoming.

In addition, there is neither traffic nor noise. Therefore, people can have a quiet and healthy life here. However, if we need to buy something in the supermarket or go to the cinema, to the university or anywhere, we have to go to other towns. It is very important (that) we have a car for living and moving here. Nevertheless, when we have a medical emergency, the ambulance comes quickly.

Tu sum up, if I had more money than I have now, I would like to live in a superb cottage in Ireland Maybe, some day my dream will come true.

ADVANCED 1 ESSAY

HOW TO KEEP SAFE AT THE BEACH

EXAMPLE OF ESSAY

To start with, for people to spend a nice time at the beach, some preventive measures should be taken by them and their family in order to be safe and protected.

Apart from driving carefully in case of not living at the beach, people should always carry some convenient things such as; high protection sun cream, head protection, appropriate clothing and footwear, energy bars, some fruit and water or other proper drinks.

According to experts, the warning flags must be respected and it’s also necessary to learn to respect other people and keep an eye on children at all times, as well.

On the one hand, people should sunbathe within a few hours in which the sun is less harmful. The best time to do it is early morning until before noon or after 6 pm. Sunbathing either at a different time or for a long time or without regard for temperature changes after meals could lead to heat stroke, burn injuries, digestion cuts, dehydration and even death.

On the other hand, people ought not to swim with rough water or undertow. It is said that people should remain calm, try to warn anyone to be rescued and swim softly on the left toward the shore in any of these situations.

This is an important tip from adepts; 'Don’t get nervous, otherwise, you get exhausted sooner and die before being rescued'.

Regarding the statistics, most of deaths occur every summer owing to people being not sensitive to the risks.

During an open day conference of the Red Cross which was celebrated last year, the rapporteur reported to the audience that people should at least have one first aid or hazard prevention course made.

To conclude, if many people had taken some precautions, complied with warning flags and other advisories, lots of accidents and deaths could have been avoided.
